Origins of Sound

My sound evenings came about as a result of a very wonderful man indeed - Jonathan Goldman. Jonathan was the first person to give me permission to use his words to write a song first for a festival, and then for my CD On the Wings of Angels. Jonathan Goldman has written many books and created many beautiful CDs which are truly inspirational. He is one of the great sound healers of our time. He advertises the Annual Valentine's Day chant of the Ah round the globe along with many other great sound healers. I joined in with the third one by organising a local group and was warmly surprised to get a group of ten or eleven enthusiastic sounders.

We duly sang our Ahs on February 14th, 2005 at noon, with a bowl of water in the middle of us, and took this bowl filled with love to a nearby lake and poured this blessed water into our lake while we once again chanted the Ah. (You can read more about water and sound on www.hado.net with Dr Masaru Emoto's work.) Then we each went our separate ways. Within two months I had begun our Monday evening sound circles.

Sanskrit Mantra - usually taken from Thomas Ashley Farrand's book in order to get the pronunciation as accurate as possible
Latest song by favourite inspirational other, one of my favourites is Mark Welch whose details can be found at www.musicbymarkwelch.com (his songs have inspired me to play the guitar a little!)
Some chanting backed by Jonathan Goldman CD - I think our favourite is the Shamael Invocation from the Angel and the Goddess, but we are also very good at the Om and the Ah
More recently a native american chant such as Yo Hey Heya Yo He Ya which I picked up from a pow wow last summer with my friend

Inspirational Themes

It has been a great joy to me at this time to find so many others able to inspire us. I often feel such a high level of inspiration from these other souls that I feel moved to bring their ideas to my class. Gratitude has featured many times as a theme, as I feel this is key to our success in moving forwards now.

I can say so clearly that this book is turning my life around, and will move many people forwards on their journeys. Each day I read what is offered as the daily quote, and I feel the difference within myself. I also enjoy sharing their wisdom with others.

One thing which has kept me going through this long, cold winter has been the Go Gratitude 42 day challenge to raise gratitude around the world by Stacey Robin. The start up page is www.gogratitude.com. I have used Stacey's gratitude symbol in my sound class along with a simple vowel chant. The energies raised in this way were tangible.

I have long admired Neale Donald Walsch with his beautiful words and energies so freely given on his website - I think he is most famous for his books Conversations with God, but I love the wisdom flashes too. www.nealedonaldwalsch.com. I have a lovely book of his written for children, which I always call God Sent only Angels, but it is in fact called the Little Soul. It reminds me that whenever people do something which I am tempted to judge as bad, in fact they are only doing what is perfectly right for them to do in that moment.
